Standard : VIII                                                                   

Topic: Hobby – Turns A Successful Career (Section 1)


General Objectives:


1. To enable the students to listen to the story.

2. To enable the students to speak simple and easy English .

3. To enable the students to read the text.

4. To enable the students to summarise the context of the story.


Specific Learning Outcome:


At the end of the class the students will be able to:

1. Understand the lesson, “ Hobby – Turns A Successful Career”.

2. Sketch the character of Mani.

3. Analyse the plot of the story.


Introduction:


The teacher introduces the lesson by asking the students about their hobbies. She asks the students about the difference between hobbies and interests. The teacher uses a jam board and motivates the students to develop their hobbies. She used the slides to make the session effective.

Review:


The teacher motivated the students by asking a few questions. She introduced the lesson by differentiating between hobby and interest. She explained the lesson with a clear tone.She was audible and used the aids effectively. She also recalled the class at the end and asked a few questions to make the session interactive. The teacher asked the students to copy down the textual question and answers. She assigned the students with a Kahoot quiz.



Follow Up:


The teacher asked the students to copy down the answers for the textual questions. She assigned the students with a Kahoot quiz.


Lesson Plan for Poem

 

Standard : VIII                                                                   

Topic: Special Hero  (Poem)


General Objectives:


1. To enable the students to listen to the poem.

2. To enable the students the skill of speaking while answering the questions..

3. To enable the students to read the poetic verses.

4. To enable the students to write paraphrases.


Specific Learning Outcome:


At the end of the class the students will be able to:

1. Understand the structure of the poem.

2. Discuss the theme of the poem.

3. List out the literary devices found in the poem.

4. Describe the context of the poem.


Introduction:


The teacher motivates the students by asking a question : Who is your favourite hero?. She then introduces the poem, “Special Hero” written by Christina M Kerschen. The teacher gives a brief introduction about the poet to the students.

Topic: The Woman on Platform 8 


General Objectives:


1. To enable the students, listen to the supplementary reader.

2. To enable the students to speak simple English.

3. To enable the students interest in reading the supplementary reader.

4. To enable the students to write about the author.


Specific Learning Outcome:


At the end of the class the students will be able to:

1. Know about the author, Ruskin Bond.

2. Appreciate his achievements.

3. Understand the story line.


Introduction:


The teacher introduces the lesson by asking a few questions like:

1. Have you ever travelled alone in the train?

2. Did you encounter any stranger and have a conversation with him/her?

She then presented the lesson and gave a brief introduction to the author, Ruskin Bond.
